Off Week!

Biggest week of the year!  We can turn the corner or we can continue to struggle...if it's to be, it's up to me!

Post Game versus Norcross

Nothing turned out the way we planned!  Now we have to do something that is hard to do...we have to continue to improve week to week and not just polish things as we go!  WE are still struggling with day 1 schemes!  From this point forward, our goal has to be the improvement of our offensive football team!

Pre-Game versus Norcross

Historically, the improvement you make between the first week and your second week will be the most noticeably of a season. WE now understand game speed, we now understand how important the
little things are…we need to improve our communication (snap count reminders, blocking calls). Play with confidence and poise, know what you are doing and do it full speed! We are going to have to match their intensity again. They play hard, and so will we.  This time at that crucial point of the
game we will EXECUTE. On third down, we need to convert! On first down we need to pick up positive
yards. We are going to overcome doubt and Parkview will not continue to beat Parkview! Eventually we will
play the way people expect the Parkview Panthers to play! WE ARE PARKVIEW…

Thoughts on the week of Norcross

Allot of our problems versus Stephenson can be solved if we choose to be more precise in our commitment to excellence! A 6 inch step here or stepping inside/outside, would have changed everything…being a little more patient in our throws, or concentrating a little more on our catches…get a snap, kick, and all of a sudden we would have viewed ourselves as winners! Let me tell you something --- in my mind…you guys crossed that bridge on Day 1 when you were willing to step in the ring and put yourself out there…allot of people never know the disappointment we felt after that game. They have no idea of how bad it hurts to see someone in the paper attack their half a years worth of work. They didn’t see you guys here all summer, catching route after route…or all winter lifting weights. We did --- and were with you every step of the way! WE don’t want you guys to stop at just being winners in our eyes. We have challenged you to become champions. Champions overcome doubt! To overcome the doubt and discouragement that people around you are selling (…don’t buy it! Because once you buy their negativity, every other thing they try and sell you will be easy…),we need to have a great week! We cannot revert back to the day when we didn’t know how to run ed, or zone, or reach or etc…WE MUST BUILD ON THE GAME FROM LAST WEEK, WE MUST FIX THE INCHES! We have to go full speed, it does us no good to go half speed all week and then try and get to full speed on Friday Nights…put the effort in through the week, when we go, go full speed! If you can’t go full speed, get out…we have set up two deep subs all over the field. Everyone has a substitution and someone who is vying for playing time behind them. Let’s get better this week…let’s learn our assignments and do them right, right down to the inch!

Pre-Game versus Stephenson

We have to match their intensity…play hard and play fast, you aren’t going to play perfect! You can play with great effort, don’t be intimidated by their fake sense of bravado…they coach that type of attitude; they think
that is part of their game. If you have never done anything great, and if you make enough noise someone will watch you…and will get caught up with what you are doing and not what they should be doing!!! Worry
about your job instead of worrying about they will do! We can all be good enough football players to move the ball 3-3-4, we don’t have to play perfect we do have to play hard! Every snap!Do you think Buford respects you? Do you think…x, y or z respects you? None of that matters…respect yourself and everything else will take care of itself!

Stephenson Game

At some point this year, we will be able to win a game like we played on Friday night.  We are a good enough football team to win that one!  Unfortunately, we are still hanging on to the doubt and discouragement of the last three years...I believe when we do finally learn to deal with the failures of the last three years and regain our composure as a program, we will be right back on the top where we belong!

We are built to be a player in the state championship every year, it is our goal, it is what we have come to expect.  Not being able to be that the last four seasons has shaken us to the core....it has really forced us to re-evaluate and make changes up and down our program.  We are close to adjusting and adapting through it but we have one last thing to do, and that's win a big game!  We haven't in a while, we find was to lose them!  But we are so that all we have to do is make a snap and kick an extra point!  For that matter, there are 10 other places we could have won the game....that's how close we are!

Stephenson Game

We had a great week!  Tuesday we struggled through it and Wednesday was much better...Thursday, we still need to learn how to prepare for games...

We are going to play the 6th team in the state...and we are going to win it...3-3-4 yards at a time!
